Driver Struck Disabled Truck on I-78, Police Say

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast say a motorist caused an accident when she struck a disabled pickup truck on I-78 East in Lower Saucon Township.

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast say an accident occurred on I-78 East at mile marker 71.2 in Lower Saucon Township Friday.

In a press release, police said a 37-year-old woman from Lancaster was eastbound at 12:57 p.m. when she struck a disabled Ford F-150 pickup truck as she attempted to pass it.

Police said the truck—which was being driven by a 63-year-old man from Frackville—was stopped on the road's north shoulder, "partially in the left lane of travel."

A 14-year-old girl was a passenger in the man's truck at the time of the accident, according to police.

Police did not say whether charges will be filed against either operator.
