Lower Saucon Township police say a Philadelphia man was cited for allegedly driving at an unsafe speed following a Friday morning accident at the intersection of Bingen and Saucon Valley roads.

In a news release, police said Salvatore Console, of the 1800 block of Johnston Street, was attempting to turn onto Saucon Valley Road from Bingen Road southbound when his car slid on snow and crossed over a double yellow line.

Police said Console struck a car that was stopped at the stop sign at the end of Saucon Valley Road.

The stopped car was being driven by a Center Valley man, they said.
