A New Hope woman was cited for allegedly driving too fast for conditions, after police said she slid into a crosswalk button post while trying to enter the Creekside Marketplace shopping center parking lot Oct. 7.

In a news release, Lower Saucon Township Police said Lauren Scheller, of the 6400 block of Deerfield Drive, was southbound on Route 412 when she tried to turn into the shopping center.

"At the time, the vehicle did not turn and slid straight into the...post," police said.

"[Scheller's] vehicle came to a rest on the island and broke [the] post and wires, causing [the] traffic light to stop working," police added.
