Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast reported that a Kimberton, Chester County man caused an accident on I-78 West in Lower Saucon Township.

In a news release, police said the June 28 accident occurred at 3:42 p.m. about 213 feet east of the Mountain Drive South overpass.

Police said Robert S. Albright, 63, was unable to stop for slowed traffic in the left lane and rear-ended a car operated by a 42-year-old Emmaus man.

That car was pushed into a third vehicle, which was operated by a 29-year-old Hellertown woman who was transporting four small children, police said.

According to the news release, the woman and children were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for evaluation, while the Emmaus man told police he was going to seek medical attention on his own, after complaining of pain in his right leg.

Police said Albright, who was driving a 2008 Ford F150 at the time of the accident, was cited.
