Distracted Driver Causes 3-Car Accident, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say Ann Brixius, of the 3500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike, was distracted and driving too fast when she struck a vehicle in front of her at Rt. 378 and Old Philadelphia Pike.

A Lower Saucon woman who was distracted by officers assisting a disabled motorist was driving too fast to stop for traffic in front of her and caused a three-car accident, township police said in a press release.

According to police, Ann Brixius, of the 3500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike, caused the accident at Old Philadelphia Pike and Route 378 at 5:10 p.m. May 17.

Police said Brixius rear-ended the vehicle in front of her, which was pushed into a third vehicle.

The vehicle Brixius struck sustained "light damage" to its front end when it was pushed into a trailer hitch on the vehicle in front of it, according to police.

Brixius was charged with a violation of the traffic code, Driving at Safe Speeds, police said.
