Deer Struck on I-78 East in Bethlehem

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast say a motorist struck a deer on I-78 East near mile marker 65.3 in the city of Bethlehem Thursday morning.

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast say a motorist struck a deer on Interstate 78 East near mile marker 65.3 in the city of Bethlehem Thursday morning.

According to a police press release, a 32-year-old Allentown woman was behind the wheel of a 2008 Toyota Sienna with two small children in the car when she struck the deer at 7:42 a.m.

Police said the deer "ran across the highway and the passenger's side of the vehicle."

There were no injuries as a result of the accident, but the car had to be towed, police said.

State police at Belfast have reported several recent deer strikes on I-78 in Bethlehem and Lower Saucon Township.
