Lower Saucon Township Police say a Carbondale, Pa., man was cited after he allegedly caused an accident at the intersection of Flint Hill and Leithsville roads.
In a news release, police said William J. Purcell, of the first block of Salem Avenue, was eastbound on Flint Hill Road and trying to turn onto Leithsville Road when he was struck by a vehicle that was southbound on Leithsville.
Police said Purcell "pulled out in front of" the southbound vehicle, which was operated by a Riegelsville man, and the collision "could not be avoided."
Police said their investigation concluded that Purcell had run the stop sign at the intersection, "causing the accident."
Purcell suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment by Dewey EMS, according to the news release.
