Citizen Films Police Activity at Hellertown Rite Aid

Steve Dennis of Nazareth used his phone to record police activity in the parking lot of the Rite Aid drugstore at Main and Walnut streets in Hellertown Tuesday.

An area resident filmed police activity at the Tuesday on his iPhone, and shared the video with Hellertown Patch.

Steve Dennis, of Nazareth, said the activity appeared to him to be a drug bust.

In the 18-second clip, police officers with weapons drawn order a man wearing an orange t-shirt out of the passenger seat of a small SUV.

The man is then ordered to lie down next to the vehicle, which was parked in the Rite Aid parking lot, near Main Street.

A silver sedan is parked at an angle behind the SUV, blocking vehicular access around the drugstore.

The unidentified man can be heard to complain about the ground being hot.

Police can be heard to shout: "Get out of the car! On the ground! On the ground! Down, down, down!"

It was not immediately clear if the officers were Hellertown police or members of another agency such as .

A call to the Hellertown Police Department late Tuesday afternoon was answered, but officials were not immediately able to provide additional information about the activity.
