Car Ran Off I-78 After Crash, Ended Up in Woods, Police Say

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast said Yasin Turudu, 29, of Parsippany, N.J., was charged with driving too fast for conditions.

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast said in a news release that a Parsippany, N.J., man was charged with driving too fast for conditions after he allegedly struck another vehicle on I-78 westbound in Lower Saucon Township.

Police said Yasin Turudu, 29, was driving a 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 when he allegedly rear-ended a 2002 Hyundai Accent near mile marker 69, drove off the road's right shoulder and ended up about 210 feet off the highway in woods.

According to police, following the accident the 35-year-old Coopersburg man who was driving the vehicle that was rear-ended stopped on the highway's shoulder to look for the other driver and "left on foot" when he couldn't find him.

The accident happened at approximately 12:45 a.m. Sept. 15, police added.
