Bucks County Woman Cited for Allegedly Shoplifting at Giant

According to Lower Saucon Township police, Brenda Lea Day, of Erwinna, Bucks County, took food valued at more than $50 from the Giant supermarket in Lower Saucon Township without paying for it.

  • DUI - On Feb. 19 at 3:01am police say they observed Jessica Perez, of 1123 Fritz Drive, Bethlehem, approach the intersection of Riverside Drive and Fritz Avenue at a high rate of speed. After Perez was timed allegedly traveling at a speed above the posted 25mph speed limit, police stopped her and administered field sobriety tests, which they say she failed. Perez was subsequently arrested for DUI and a male passenger in her vehicle, who police did not identify, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and transferred to the county sheriff's department, police said. 
  • Public Drunkenness - On March 5 at 11:55pm police say they were dispatched to Glow Gentlemen's Club, 3868 Route 378, after receiving a report of a man "in the parking lot, staggering around into vehicles." Police say they subsequently found Luis Alberto Velez, of 711 1/2 St. John St., Allentown, vomiting in front of a neighboring residence. Velez was cited for public drunkenness and was "sent home in a cab," police said.
  • Retail Theft - On March 7 police cited Brenda Lea Day, 22, of 96 Uhlerstown Hill Road, Erwinna, Pa., for retail theft, after she allegedly took food valued at $57.42 from Giant Food Store, 1880 Leithsville Road, without paying for it. According to police, Day's son was with her at the time of the alleged incident.
  • Drug Violation - On March 8 at 2:44pm police stopped Juan Ortiz, 23, of 1811 Barbara St., Bethlehem, for an alleged traffic violation on Redington Road. Police say they subsequently determined that Ortiz's license was suspended and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession. Summonses are to be sent to Ortiz.
