Early Friday, the National Weather Service issued a special statement regarding fire danger in eastern Pennsylvania.

According to the NWS statement, there is an "elevated risk of wildfire spread" through Friday evening.

"Low surface relative humidity near 30 percent along with gusty winds around 20 mph developing this afternoon will allow fine fuels such as grasses and brush to continue drying," the weather service said.
