Lower Saucon Township police say a Saucon Valley High School student was recently charged with criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a car by trying to perform a pushup on it in November.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said the alleged incident happened at the high school on the afternoon of Nov. 20.

Police said the owner of the car—a Lower Saucon Township resident—told officers he knew who was responsible for damaging his vehicle's sunroof and putting several dents in its roof, and identified the boy.

When the boy was interviewed, police said, he admitted to causing the damage and "stated that he was trying to perform a pushup on the vehicle in an attempt to be funny."

The damage to the car is estimated at $1,467.57, police said.
