Borough Man Allegedly Planned to Threaten Sister with Gun

According to court records, Michael Stephen Kolesnik, of Hellertown, was apprehended by police after he allegedly drove to his sister's home on Brad Lane in Lower Saucon Township with a loaded Remington rifle on Sunday.

A Hellertown man has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, drunken driving and eluding police, following an alleged weekend incident that is detailed in court records, the Express-Times reported Monday.

According to the article, Michael Stephen Kolesnik, 54, of the first block of West Depot Street, was apprehended by police on Sunday, after he allegedly drove to his sister's home in the 1700 block of Brad Lane, Lower Saucon Township, with a loaded Remington rifle in his car and plans to confront and threaten her.

The article indicates that police were contacted by Kolesnik's son, who reportedly called 911 and said he feared his father planned to shoot and kill his aunt.

When Kolesnik was later interviewed by police, he reportedly told them that he has been upset with his sister--who is identified in court records as Marie Federowicz--for three years, and that he is upset about the sale of their parents' house and other matters involving finances, the article says.

The article also states that Kolesnik was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail, following his arrest.
