Area Man Allegedly Involved in Poconos Assault
The Pocono Record reports that Eric Mart, 45, of Hellertown, was allegedly involved in a New Year's Day assault on a woman in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County.
A Hellertown man was allegedly involved in a New Year's Day assault on a woman in Coolbaugh Township, the Pocono Record reported Jan. 3.
According to the newspaper, at 12:20am Eric Mart, 45, of Hellertown, was in a car that was traveling on Country Place Drive in the private community A Pocono Country Place when he began arguing with a woman who was also in the vehicle.
According to police cited by the newspaper, Mart then allegedly attacked the woman by repeatedly punching her and ripping her hair out.

After the woman got out of the vehicle, Mart allegedly followed her and tackled her to the ground, Pocono Mountain Regional Police said.
The newspaper reports that Mart was committed to Monroe County Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
