87 Cited for Aggressive Driving Along 412 Corridor, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say 87 motorists were recently cited for aggressive driving in the Route 412 corridor, as part of an effort to help curb the dangerous practice.

Lower Saucon Township Police say they cited 87 and warned 13 other motorists for aggressive driving along the Route 412 corridor south of Hellertown between Aug. 20 and Sept. 17.

In a press release issued Thursday, police said the citations were part of a crackdown on aggressive driving that was funded by a $2,500 state grant.

Police said the grant was sought after residents and motorists in the area complained about aggressive drivers, and due to the number of motor vehicle accident reports in the vicinity—including the accident that destroyed the Leithsville fire station at Route 412 and Flint Hill Road in May 2012.

Four details were recently conducted along the state road and its tributaries, and the police department hopes to receive more grant funding to help curb aggressive driving in the future, the news release indicated.
