28-Year-Old Man Claims to Be 80, Police Say

According to police, Gerald Alvin Burton Jr. gave false information after he was stopped for blocking traffic at Route 378 and Seidersville Road.

It may seem inconceivable that a 28-year-old man could pass himself off as an octogenarian, but that's exactly what Lower Saucon Township Police say Gerald Alvin Burton Jr., of 3800 Cypress Lane, Bethlehem Township, attempted to do March 27.

According to police, Burton was stopped at Route 378 and Frederick Street at 2:54am after his vehicle was observed stopped and blocking traffic in the intersection of 378 and Seidersville Road.

Upon being approached, police say a strong odor of alcohol was detected about Burton's person and he claimed not to have any identification on him.

Instead, police say Burton told an officer that his name was "Josh Freeman" and his date of birth was July 16, 1930.

In actual fact, Burton's date of birth is July 15, 1982, which was confirmed after he was arrested for DUI and his driver's license was located, police said.
