Why the “right to keep and bear arms”
We can now add the U.S. Postal Service to the list of federal agencies seeking to purchase what I consider to be alarmingly large quantities of ammunition. A little more than a year ago I told you all about, the Social Security Administration’s purchase order for 174,000 rounds of .357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow-point bullets. Before that, the Department of Agriculture with 320,000 rounds, and more recently, the Department of Homeland Security requested purchase of 450 million rounds at about the same time the FBI separately bought 100 million hollow-point rounds.
We all know about those crazy gun toting weather men out there battling the elements so it should come as no surprise when we hear that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration also has requested 46,000 rounds. Four of the six federal agencies I have listed have NO NEED WHAT SO EVER for ammunition or weapons. This combined with the necessary entities such as law enforcement & military equates to over one and a half billion rounds of ammunition. That is billion with a B.
This is exactly what our Founding Fathers did not want and what I believe we should all be concerned about. The scheme of the Obama administration's using backdoor methods to scale back gun ownership among America’s private citizens has hardly been kept secret and seems even more peculiar to me when considering the following.
The amount of ammunition they're buying up far exceeds their needs. It far exceeds what they'll use or need; they'll never use it all. So why so much? This past December, the EPA closed the Country’s last lead smelting facility following close on the heels (within a little over a month) of Secretary of State John Kerry’s signing of the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) “on behalf of President Barack Obama and the people of the United States.”
Connect the dots and the picture gets clearer: First, the flurry of executive orders unconstitutionally infringing on the second amendment, the administrations signing of a UN treaty explicitly calling for the disarmament of civilians, including the restriction on the purchase of ammunition; third, a Federal agency shutdown of our last domestic lead smelting facility under false pretenses. Add in the obscene amount of ammunition the Government has procured under a myriad of different non defense agencies, and I come up with more questions than answers.
So why would this administration and those influencing it like Soros and Bloomberg want to wipe out our second amendment rights?
Monday April 7, 2014 the federal Government invaded and attempted to trample on the rights of American citizen Clive Bundy, a Nevada ranching descendant of 5 generations ranching that area of land since the 1860’s. The readers digest version is that Clive Bundy is not completely innocent here; however, it did not warrant or excuse the federal Government lead by non-other than Harry Reid Senator Nevada from sending 200 heavily armed military aggressors disguised as the Bureau of Land Management to the area to force their will and confiscate 400 head of cattle.
But here is the good news. By Saturday April 12, the Government not only withdrew by leaving the state but also returned the cattle. What brought them to their senses (for now according to the Senator)? Militia! That’s right; over one thousand armed citizen militia came to the ranch from Nevada and surrounding states to defend an American citizen from a tyrannical act by a federal agency. For the first time since 2008 I felt a little flicker of hope for the future of the United States.
No matter what your opinion on guns or gun rights, you must first understand the real intent of the founding Fathers on the second amendment which reads: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
By Thursday April 10th we witnessed the second amendment working precisely as it was intended, and the aggressive tyrannical government regime was turned back. This is exactly what the second amendment is all about, and the ONLY reason this Government wants to confiscate and limit as many if not all of the guns they can from the American citizenry.
It’s about “people control” NOT gun control. Do not be fooled by the rhetoric about the safety of our children, who have now discovered kitchen knives, or about taking guns from criminals, or that you don’t need a gun that will hold more than 10 rounds. That is pure BS designed to distract the public and obscure the real agenda driven issue. Whatever the government has for firepower, the American citizen should have access to as well in keeping with a “well regulated militia”.
“For the first time in history does a nation have complete gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient. The world will follow our lead in the future” Adolph Hitler, April 15, 1935 in address to the German Reichstag. Disarming German citizens especially the Jewish was paramount in the effort to exterminate “enemies of the state” Check out the book “Gun control in the Third Reich” by Stephen P Halbrook for some interesting insight. It reads like a blueprint of “Gun / people control” for the extremist anti-gun zealots.
Thomas Jefferson stated “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government” Not since this Country was under British rule has this been more apparent than in the last decade or more, and most certainly in the last 6 years. I’m just sayin!
