The Rezoning of Applebutter Road

On July 25,2013 the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission made a recommendation to the Lower Saucon Township council NOT to change the zoning of the Applebutter Road area with the reason a zoning change of this land is not compatible with the Lehigh Valley Comprehensive Plan.  Their recommendation returns the final decision to the Lower Saucon Township Council.
The Lower Saucon Township prides itself on the preservation of Open-space and Natural resources.
Why are the natural resources in the Applebutter Road corridor EXPENDABLE?

IESI landfill requested the zoning change, they have also purchased millions of dollars worth of property in the heart of the area to be rezoned.
I ask, Is this SPOT zoning ?
Lower Saucon Township Council Please VOTE NO TO THE PROPOSED REZONE.
