Stoplight @ 78W Off Ramp Near Turkey Hill

Would someone from the town or PennDOT PLEASE check the timing of the stop light that allows people from 78 west on to 412 (at the Turkey Hill)?? It was working fine, and even had a left-turn signal, until the lanes were switched. Now, the police are not operating the lights at rush hour, and the light to exit the ram is green for literally FIVE seconds. This is leading to people turning when the light is red.

The contractor has stopped most work on that project for the winter season. BUT they have left their barriers in place that prevent drivers from using more turn lanes instead of opening some turn lanes to help traffic. IT would take a few workers 1 day to open those turn lanes until they actually resume thier road construction. Terrible treatment. We deserve better!

I believe a more direct way to get action is to have those with complaints or problems with the construction zone to contact the police. Below is information to get started. Hellertown Police Department Chief of Police Robert Shupp 685 Main St Hellertown, Pennsylvania 18055 Phone: (610)838-7040 Fax: (610)838-0500 Hellertown and Bethlehem Police are paid to oversee their respective jurisdictions in the construction zone. Let the police or mayor/manager pass along what is reported. Both Police Departments have the PennDOT contact numbers.

A few of us have already tried those avenues only to find that all of them point their collective fingers at each others. . Why would you send us in such a pointless journey? Especially with your affiliation with the rail trail where you have privy of directcommunication with them. We do give you credit for slowing traffic at rail trail crossings, holding up bridge repairs and promoting walking speed and bicycle speed instead of practical traffic speed/patterns that thousands of us use every day. High-end prankster?

So, what happened this morning (Wed, 1/29) at that glorious spot to cause traffic to come to a halt as far back as High Street? I didn't even try and took the back way into Easton. Will Bethlehem town management blame Hellertown PD? Hellertown PD blame PennDOT? Penn Dot blame weather? Contractor blame Bethlehem PD? Bethlehem PD blame Hellertown town manager? And residents will be given phone numbers, Web sites and email addresses for all and chastised for not contacting each of them?
