Savvy Saver: Free and Discounted Summer Movies
Kids and families love to enjoy the movies, but so often it's just too expensive. Here's your opportunity to sit back, relax, stay cool and enjoy the sights and sounds of a local theater.
Each summer, a handful of theaters around the Lehigh Valley offer free or discounted summer movies for children and their parents. What better way to catch a flick, beat the heat AND save some dollars?
Here is a list of some of the local theaters offering summer movie programs:

Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am from June 21 through Aug. 10.
Doors open at 9:30am. Movies start at 10am. Arrive early to make sure you get a good seat. These showings fill up FAST!

Not everything can be free, but the following theater offers a super discounted summer program for just $1 per person along with a great deal to appease those with hungry bellies.
For a total of $5, you and your child can get the full effect of the movies without paying regular movie theater prices.

Per a representative at the theater, Carmike’s Summer Kids’ Series starts on June 23 and runs every Thursday through Aug. 25.
Each show begins at 10am on Thursday, but as with the Rave it’s best to get there a little early to ensure a good seat. The cost is $1 per person.
A $4 “Kids’ Pack” snack pack (including popcorn, a small drink and a small fruit snack) is also offered as a special during these showings.

Please note: AMC and Regal Cinemas no longer offer the discounted $1 movies that were previously offered. According to a representative at each theater, they had low turnout in past years, and came to the decision to eliminate the program in our area.
