90% of Saucon Elementary Teachers want a revote on contract?!

An anonymous post yesterday and other confirming information begs the question, is the SVEA union leadership voting to spend teachers money on a Lawyer and not allowing a revote on the Compromise Fact Finder contract, even though 45 of 50 elementary teachers want a vote?  Is the leadership of the local union out of touch with its membership?  From other sources the Union membership had questions about the contract that were not answered, resulting in the contract not being approved.  Did those who oppose the contract not explain to the membership clearly what this Contract does give the teachers?  I always felt that this is what has been going on.  Way back in Nov I was standing at the polls and one teacher was afraid of things that were clearly not in the contract.  In the letter to the teachers on the School District Website we indicated that we would still accept the Compromise Fact Finder Contract.  I do not understand the hiring of an outside gunslinger lawyer at added expense to the teachers.  What does this change, has the complexion of the School Board changed with the addition of this lawyer.  Do they believe that he will come up with some revelation that there is a new pot of money (other than the Taxpayers) to pay the teachers more?  This lawyer says he is a maverick on the website, but he uses the same old tired ideas that if we do not agree with a golden contract we will lose excellent teachers and not be able to hire excellent teachers.  And this will ruin the school district and destroy property values.  It is like a recording, just press play and you hear the same thing.  43% of our taxpayers are on Social Security and his answer is the board is in a bind because we haven't raised taxes in 5 years.  Please, teachers of Saucon Valley don't continue down this divisive path.
