William 'Bill' A. Brown, 82, of Dushore, formerly of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.

William "Bill" A. Brown, 82, of Dushore, formerly of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at Gatehouse Hospice Unit, Williamsport. He was the husband of the late Frances C. (Rowe) Heydt Brown and Ruth E. (Aikman) Brown. He was born in Carrolltown on Jan. 30, 1931 to the late Bertha (Thomas) and Thomas Alison Brown. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Bill had also played alto sax and clarinet in the Air Force band. He and his first wife Ruth owned and operated the former Brown's Cleaners in Hellertown for many years. He previously worked at Bethlehem Steel Company at Homer Research. Bill was the former sexton at , a member of the former F&AM Lodge, Hellertown, and a past member of the Hellertown Lions Club.

SURVIVORS

Loving children: Rev. Robert W. and his wife Rebecca with whom he resided, Thomas R. and his wife Barbara of Schnecksville, Nancy J. wife of Meryl Graham of Hellertown; sisters: Carol Bimeal of Harrison City, Jean wife of Mike Wirfel, Joan wife of Fred Lampell, all of Portage; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister: Suzanne Elizabeth Brown; and a brother: Alison Brown.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 8:30pm Tuesday and 10 to 11am Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11am. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Rev.
