Thomas J. Snyder Sr., 89, Formerly of Springfield [Obituary]

Thomas J. Snyder Sr., 89, formerly of Springfield Township, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was the husband of the late Eleanor O. (O'Donnell) Snyder, who died Jan. 25, 2001. He was born in Fountain Hill on June 2, 1923 to the late Alfred and Minnie (Singer) Snyder. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Thomas worked for the PA Liquor Control Board for 10 years as a clerk. Previously, he and his wife owned and operated the Ferndale Hotel for 26 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville, Silver Creek AA, Beethoven Waldheim, and the Quakertown American Legion. 

SURVIVORS

Loving sons: Craig J. of Kintnersville, Thomas J. Jr. and his wife Marlene of Ferndale, daughter-in-law: Joanne D. Snyder of Quakertown; grandchildren: Lori Hadley, Jennifer Snyder and Jeffrey A. Scheurer; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son: Gregory A.

SERVICE

The service Monday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, will be private. There will be no calling hours. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
