Paul N. Lipp, DPM, 88, of Hellertown [Obituary]

Dr. Paul N. Lipp, 88, of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Marion H. (Messerschmidt) Lipp. He was born in Mahanoy City on Nov. 30, 1924, and was the son of the late Nicholas George and Ona Ursula (Budrow) Lipp. He studied pre-med at Muhlenberg College from 1946-1947 and studied at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine from 1948-1952, as well as post-grad courses at PA College of Podiatric Medicine. Paul N. Lipp, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), served the community of Hellertown through private practice from 1952 until his retirement in 1988. He was also a clinical instructor at Temple University, Staff Podiatrist at Allentown State Hospital, and held private practices in Slatington and Bethlehem. Paul served his country faithfully during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Philippines. He was a member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus in Hellertown, the House of Delegates for Podiatry-4 County, 1960 Past President of the Lehigh Valley Podiatry Association, VFW 3094, Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Dewey Fire Co. and the Hellertown Booster Club, all of Hellertown. 

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years; sons: Robert Lipp and his wife Elaine of Hellertown, Matthew Lipp and his wife Terry of Wescosville; daughters: Diane wife of Tommy McNabb of Ft. Myers, Fla., Janice wife of James LaPorta of Coopersburg; grandchildren: Brian Lipp, Todd Lipp, Cory Kukuvka, Christina LaPorta, Julia LaPorta, Lisa Bednarski, Laura Durn, Tommy McNabb, Timothy McNabb, Tyler McNabb; great-grandchildren: Brandon Lipp, Jordan Lipp, Gavin Lipp and Kyla Lipp.  

SERVICE      

Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 8:30pm Tuesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The Celebrant of the Mass will be the Rev. Jerome M. Tauber. The interment with full military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online memorial tributes recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
