Obituary: Myrtle D. Trauger, 84, of Pleasant Valley

Myrtle D. Trauger, 84, of Pleasant Valley, Springfield Township, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

Myrtle D. Trauger, 84, of Pleasant Valley, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Thomas H. Trauger, who passed away on April 2, 2011. She was born in Hellertown on Dec. 14, 1928 to the late Marvin S. Sr. and Estella F. (Angney) Kunsman. She worked at Dale Footwear Co. in Coopersburg and at Hellertown Manufacturing. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Pleasant Valley, where she was a choir member for 32 years, a Sunday school teacher for 20 years and also served on its council. She and her late husband were sextons of the church for 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 397, Hellertown Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star, Calypso Chapter 163.

SURVIVORS

Loving son: Bruce T. and his wife Maxine of Hatfield; siblings: Gerald R. and his wife Sharon, Grace J. Reiss, Geraldine R. wife of Leonard Trauger; grandchildren: Michele, Ryan, Andrew, Katie, Alan, Tina, Thomas, Michael, Christopher; great-grandchildren: Neilla, Keeley, Izabela, Benjamin, Timothy, Braedyn and Lucas; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son: Neil T. in 1990; siblings: Austin K., Marvin S. Jr., John S., William, Richard.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 11am Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2170 Route 212, Coopersburg (Pleasant Valley). The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11am. The interment will conclude services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Springfield Township.
