Obituary: Louis R. Brown, 90, Formerly of NJ Ave., Hellertown

Louis R. Brown, 90, formerly of New Jersey Avenue, Hellertown, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at Country Meadows of Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Geraldine A. (Hahn) Brown. He was born in Bethlehem on May 10, 1922 to the late Rev. Theodore C. and Mary E. (Aulenbach) Brown. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Louis was a letter carrier in Bethlehem for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years until retiring in 1982. Prior employment included working for eight-and-a-half years in the Narrow Gauge at Bethlehem Steel Co. He was a member of , where he was a past trustee and a member of its Dart Baseball League. He also was a member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 of the American Legion and the , both of Hellertown.

Survivors:

Daughter: Lois A. Groff of Bath; two grandchildren: Jason and Matthew Groff. He was predeceased by brothers Nevin, William, Franklin and Theodore, and a sister, Gertrude.

Service:
