Obituary: James C. Zimmerman, 92, of Hellertown

James C. Zimmerman, 92, of Hellertown, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at Saucon Valley Manor. He was the husband of the late Gertrude M. (Konrad) Zimmerman, who died June 9, 2012. He was born in Bethlehem on Sept. 27, 1920 to the late Clarence Zimmerman and Evelyn (Munch) Zimmerman Kradjel. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. James worked from 1939 to 1979 as a general foreman at the Saucon Shipping/Beam Yards of the Bethlehem Steel Company. He was of the Protestant faith. James was a 1938 graduate of Fountain Hill High School.

SURVIVORS

Daughter-in-law: Charlotte L. Zimmerman of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Robert T. and his wife Elone T. and Lori A. wife of Erin McDevitt; great-grandsons: Liam and Sean McDevitt. He was predeceased by sons: Robert J. (died 2010) and James.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10am Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10am.
