Harold J. Mindler, 92, formerly of Lower Saucon Township, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.

Harold J. Mindler, 92, formerly of Lower Saucon Township died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of Marian A. (Stoneback) Mindler. He was born in Lower Saucon Township on Jan. 18, 1920 to the late Amos and Emma (Hafner) Mindler. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an Electrician's Mate Third Class (T). Harold worked as an electrical maintenance supervisor at the BOF Furnace at Bethlehem Steel for many years until retiring. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, Center Valley, Se-Wy-Co Fire Company, and the Friedensville Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and bowling. He and his wife Marian loved ballroom dancing.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife of 70 years; children: Carl H. and his wife Darlene L. of Lebanon, Linda J. wife of Herb W. Levy of Allentown, sister: Kathryn Mindler of Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren: Larry, Daniel, Susan wife of Craig Messinger, Lizabeth Choi, Jessica Goebel, Rebecca Stahl; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11am Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11am. The interment will conclude services at Friedensville Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
