Obituary: Fred T. Zokovitch, Sr., 92, of Hellertown

Fred T. Zokovitch, Sr., 92, of Hellertown, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at his home. He was a World War II veteran.

Fred T. Zokovitch, Sr., 92, of Hellertown, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Stockton on Sept. 8, 1919 to the late Charles and Catherine (Hoffman) Zokovitch. He was the husband of Anna P. (Kuba) Zokovitch. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WWII as part of the Landing Craft Infantry, serving in the Pacific Islands. Fred worked at the Saucon Rolling Mills at Bethlehem Steel for 33 years until retiring in 1983. He was a member of the , Hellertown, and Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post #397, Hellertown.

Survivors:

In addition to his loving spouse of 65 years; children: Joseph of Macungie, Thomas J. and his wife Ilene of Union City, Fred T., Jr. and his wife Jane of Bethlehem, and Rita E. wife of Gerry Zambelli of Salisbury Township; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Charles, Bill, John, David and George, and a sister, June.

Service:

Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 8:30pm Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at the , 326 Main St., Hellertown. The service will be at 10am Friday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown.
