Obituary: Evelyn M. (Becklin) Hafner, 90, of Lower Saucon

Evelyn M. (Becklin) Hafner, 90, of Lower Saucon Township, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Wilbur J. Hafner. She was born in Bethlehem on Feb. 10, 1922 to the late Charles and Elsie (Sutton) Becklin. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Hellertown, and the ladies auxiliary of the Se-Wy-Co Fire Company, Lower Saucon. She taught Vacation Bible School and had taught Sunday School for many years at Friedensville Lutheran Church, Center Valley, where she had sung on its choir. 

Survivors:

In addition to her husband of 70 years; children: Richard W. Hafner, Shirley F. wife of Edward Fulmer, Nancy J. Smith, all of Lower Saucon Township, David J. Hafner and his wife Susan of Terre Hill, Lancaster County; sisters: Marian Harris of Bethlehem, Anna Cope of Walnutport; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers: Grant, Charles, Frederick and Jeremiah, and a sister, Geraldine.

Service:

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30am Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at the , 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10:30am. The interment will conclude services at Friedensville Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township.  Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
