Josephine A. (Becker) Konieczny, 90, of Hellertown died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. She was the wife of Walter A. Konieczny. She was born in Bethlehem on Nov. 6, 1922 to the late Martin J. and Julia L. (Moskal) Becker. Josephine worked at Hellertown Manufacturing as a plug tamper for two years until retiring in 1953. She previously worked at Hunter Spring, Lansdale, as an operator for three years, and at the Bethlehem Steel Co. Main Office as a file clerk for five years. She was a faithful member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown, St. Theresa's Guild, St. Theresa's New Beginners Senior Citizens, and a volunteer at the former New Beginnings Thrift Shop.
In addition to her loving husband of 64 years; children: Constance D. Clement of Allentown, Gregory W. at home; brother: Edward M. Becker of Brevard, N.C.; grandchildren: Kimberly A. Rosado, Katherine J. Holva; great-granddaughter: Julena M. Coulter. She was predeceased by a sister: Marie A. Maurek.
Family and friends are invited to call from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown.
