Herman F. Wilkins, 78, Formerly of Hellertown [Obituary]

Herman F. Wilkins, 78, of Lower Macungie Township, formerly of Hellertown, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth W. (Wimmer) Wilkins. He was born in Lumberton, N.C., on April 10, 1935 to the late James and Mary (Wilkins) Wilkins. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during peacetime. Herman was employed by ITT Electron Tube Division in Easton as a technician and as a supervisor of production, retiring in December 1993. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Emmaus. He was a graduate of Lumberton High School and Warren Technical Institute in Washington, N.J.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 54 years; son: Glenn and his wife Robin A. and granddaughter Robin L., all of West Chester; siblings: Dorothy Watts of Lumberton, N.C., Leroy of Rockingham, N.C., Robert and his wife Bernadine of Center Valley. He was predeceased by siblings James and Luther Leroy.

SERVICE

Private at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. The Rev. Dr. Paul W. Knappenberger will officiate the service. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
