Frank J. Wilk Sr., 88, of Hellertown died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem.

Frank J. Wilk Sr., 88, of Hellertown died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Bernice M. (Karabin) Wilk. He was born in Lower Saucon Township on March 9, 1925 to the late John Wilk and Mary (Zawodski) Wilk. Frank served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in the Coke Oven Division of Bethlehem Steel as a foreman from 1946 to 1982. He was a member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown; Holy Name Society; the Board of Directors of the Hellertown Lions Club; Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown; VFW Post 3094, Hellertown; and the National Sokol Society. He was a former member of Silver Creek Country Club, Hellertown. Frank was an avid golfer and bowler.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 64 years; children: Frank J. Jr. and his wife Linda of Lewes, Del.; Nancy S. Wilk of Bethlehem; Janice McKellin of Hellertown; grandchildren: Stefanie, Matthew, Frank, Dawn, Abby, Pam, Sara; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Rory, Cecily, Hailey, Alexa.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. The Rev. Jerome A. Tauber will be the celebrant at the Mass.
