Carel N. Heil, 86, of Hellertown, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at St. Luke's University Hospital, Anderson Campus, Bethlehem Township.

Carel N. Heil, 86, of Hellertown, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at St. Luke's University Hospital, Anderson Campus, Bethlehem Township. She was the widow of Richard A. Heil. She was born in Fountain Hill on Aug. 22, 1927 to the late Reiff and Olive (Scholl) Nauman. Carel was a social worker for Northampton County Children and Youth Services for many years until her retirement. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, a quilter, and active with the Girl Scouts.

Loving children: Richard A. Heil Jr. and his wife Judy E. Knapp of Greensburg; Barbara L. Heil of Greencastle and her children Heather M. Schultz (Larry), Heidi O. Borelli (Michael), Jacob J. Long (Sarah Campbell), Aubrey R. Heil (Melanie); Joanne M. Heil Male and her husband Larry C. Male of Parker, Colo., and their children Lauren C. and Emily R.; Phyllis E. Heil-Henry and her husband Scott A. Henry and their children Melissa E. and Benjamin R.; 10 great-grandchildren: Chloe Schultz, Sophia Schultz, Larson Schultz, Tyson Borelli, Andreas Borelli, Maverick Borelli, Samuel Long, Scarlett Long, Adria Heil, Addia Heil. Siblings: Evelyn Spadt of Bethlehem; Jean Green of Salisbury Township; Joanne Campbell of Bethlehem; Harold Nauman of the Poconos; Richard Nauman in Florida; Alan Nauman in Florida. She was predeceased by siblings: Joyce Francis, Betty Ellicott, Reiff Jr., Hugh, Ruth Lerch, June Marshall and Donald.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at First UCC, 501 Northampton St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard L. Teitsworth will officiate the service. The interment will conclude services at Friedensville Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
