What Are Your Thoughts on a New Logo for the Borough of Hellertown?

The Hellertown Borough Business Revitalization Program (HBBRP) is looking to enhance the town’s image. In the past, the HBBRP has done this through projects such as offering , and by purchasing flower planters for the downtown. But now they hope to accomplish this goal in a truly literal sense--with the redesign of the decades-old borough seal. 

The HBBRP is currently requesting design submissions that represent community perceptions of the borough’s culture, history or assets.

Designs will be accepted from anyone who lives or works in the borough of Hellertown, as well as any students from the . There are no age or experience restrictions, and submissions are encouraged from both children and adults, amateur or professional.

All submissions will first be reviewed by the Hellertown BBRP, which will provide Hellertown Borough Council with the top entries for its review. Council will then narrow the field down to a few choices, which will be voted on publicly.

The unveiling of the council-supported design is proposed to occur at . Thereafter, the winning image will be shared with a professional graphic designer who will enhance the image concept, making it usable for the borough’s current needs.

Three design criteria must be met in order for a submission to be considered:

• The dimensions of the design should not exceed 8½ x 11 inches
• The following content must be included in the design: “Incorporated 1872” and "Borough of Hellertown"
• The design must identify or define Hellertown, i.e. it must represent the borough’s culture, history or assets

Submissions should be dropped off in sealed envelopes at , in c/o Mary Himmelberger/HBBRP, no later than May 10, 2012. Included on a separate piece of paper should be your contact information: name, phone number, street address, e-mail address and age.

Hellertown is one of seven boroughs that comprise the Borough Business Revitalization Program (BBRP), a regional Main Street program that represents a partnership between the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber Foundation, the Dept. of Community and Economic Development, Lehigh and Northampton counties, and the participating communities of Alburtis, Bangor, Bath, Catasauqua, Coopersburg, Hellertown and Pen Argyl.
