Turning Point has been working to end domestic violence in our community for 35 years. As we are out in the community, often we find that people aren't exactly sure what domestic violence is....
Virtually everyone would describe being punched, kicked, or assaulted as abuse, but many people are not aware that domestic abuse is not just physical. Victims don't always have bruises. Sometimes they are controlled by emotional abuse, by being isolated, by withholding access to money and resources, or by not being allowed to communicate with friends and family.

Our goal is to let people know what other kinds of abuse can look like, and that Turning Point is ready to help, not just with emergency shelter, but with counseling, court advocoacy, education, and prevention programs as well. Hopefully, you have seen our billboards and newspaper ads over the past couple of months, and now we are unveiling some short videos as well.
