Participants in the Saucon Valley School District's mentorship program recently celebrated the conclusion of a successful holiday gift drive that benefited dozens of other Saucon Valley students.

Program coordinator Russ Carawan noted that "the over 40 students we gave gifts to this Christmas...is well over the 18 we covered just last year."

For her assistance with the gift drive, Carawan thanked Kim Flueso, the teacher in charge of the SVHS Student Government Association (SGA) and one of the faculty advisors for the high school's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter. Those groups "contributed the majority of the gifts for our children," Carawan said.

He also thanked students Marissa Miller and Hailey Hein, "who wrapped a ton of gifts and kept me organized throughout this drive."
