Weekend Winter Storm Watch Includes Saucon Valley

The National Weather Service has issued a watch for Saturday for the possibility of heavy, wet snow.

UPDATE: As of Friday morning at 9am the weather service is advising that 6 to 10 inches of snow are possible, along with power outages that could result when trees that still have leaves on them "become loaded with wet snow and have limbs break off." The winter storm watch remains in effect for Saturday.

The watch is for Saturday morning through Saturday evening, and is for 4 to 6 inches of snow--especially over the higher elevations of the area and the Poconos.

With temperatures forecast to be in the mid-30s, precipitation is expected to begin as rain and change over to heavy, wet snow.

A winter storm watch means the opportunity for precipitation exists, so area residents should continue to monitor the developing weekend forecast.
