Saucon Valley Lions Club Gem Show Sparkles in Hellertown

See some rock "stars" at Saucon Valley Senior High School 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

Seventeen dealers brought an international array of nature's creations to Saucon Valley Senior High School in Hellertown for the 41st annual Lehigh Valley Gem and Mineral Show held by the Saucon Valley Lions Club.

Geodes from Mexico and smoky quartz from Romania mingled with obsidian from Arizona at tables covered with collectible specimens, hand-cut stones and jewelry.

The show continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 27. Admission is $6.50 for adults.

Local bead artist Gloria Leight displayed her one-of-a-kind wearable art created at her home studio in Center Valley. Leight, who learned classic Native American knotting techniques while living in Arizona, teaches at Northampton Community College.

The event includes a bake sale, as well as hot and cold refreshments served by Saucon Valley Lions.
