Freezing Rain Advisory Issued for Sunday Night

Commuters and may want to wake up earlier than they normally do on Monday, in order to assess weather conditions.

That's because the National Weather Service has issued an overnight Freezing Rain Advisory for Northampton and Lehigh counties, as well as other parts of northeastern Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey.

The advisory will be in effect from 7pm Sunday to 6am Monday, and has been issued because of the possibility of freezing drizzle to occur.

The weather service says in its statement that the drizzle could create hazardous travel conditions, although temperatures are expected to moderate Monday morning.

By Monday afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-40s, which means that motorists may encounter a slushy commute home, as melts and mixes with rain.
