Flood Advisory Includes Hellertown, Lower Saucon

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday due to heavy rains.

The advisory--which is for small streams and urban areas--is for Northampton, Lehigh, Berks, Monroe and Carbon counties.

At mid-afternoon, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall across parts of Berks and Northampton counties.

The showers could bring one to two inches of rain to some parts of the area.

The National Weather Service advises motorists not to drive their vehicles into areas where water covers the road, and to move to higher ground where possible.
