District Employees Win Award

Saucon Valley foreign language teacher Sarah Thatcher and paraprofessional Kim Sauerzoph were given the Lauretta Woodson award on June 19.

Two Saucon Valley School District employees were recently honored with an award from the Northampton County chapter of PASR (Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees), superintendent Dr. Sandra Fellin announced.

Foreign language teacher Sarah Thatcher and paraprofessional Kim Sauerzoph were given the Lauretta Woodson award at a June 19 dinner at Northampton Memorial Community Center.

"The award is given to one educator and one support person who has exhibited creativity, initiative or productivity relevant to the learning process and growth of children," NCCPASR educational support program chairperson Frank Kovacs said in an email about the awards.

Sauerzoph and Thatcher were nominated for the recognition by the school district.
