A Cold, Cold Day at the Grist Mill [Photos]

Brilliant sunshine was not enough to defrost the Saucon Valley Friday. The entire region remains locked in the deep freeze following another invasion of Arctic air.

Friday was another bitterly cold day to be out and about in the Saucon Valley, as temperatures struggled to climb out of the teens. A healthy snow pack added to the Arctic feel, and a slight breeze was enough to chill pedestrians to the bone.

At Hellertown's Grist Mill Park, the historic structures that make up the Hellertown Historical Society complex were starkly contrasted against a clear blue sky and fields of white. And except for a few spots where free-flowing water gurgled, the ponds in the park were sheets of snow-covered ice.
