Verizon Wireless Retailer Closes in Hellertown

The cellular phone store Millennium Communications in The Shoppes at Hellertown has closed.

A Verizon Wireless independent sales location in Hellertown has closed, according to a sign posted in the window of the former Millennium Communications in The Shoppes at Hellertown shopping center.

According to the sign, the store has relocated to 1660 Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown, Pa., which is near Philadelphia.

"If you need any further assistance, please call us at 215-233-5600," the sign read. "Thanks for your cooperation and for giving us business."

The closure of Millennium Communications leaves a row of three vacant storefronts in the plaza at Main Street and Polk Valley Road.

Next door, the Hellertown Pharmacy recently closed its doors, and two doors down is the former space inhabited by Barry Bartakovits Custom Pools, which relocated to a larger storefront in the shopping center.

Those empty retail spaces are currently available for lease.

Signs posted in the windows indicate they are being marketed by the James Balliett Commercial Group.

More information is available by calling 610-435-4711 or at www.LehighValleyCommercial.com.

One bright spot for shopping center patrons is the recent reopening of Premier Urgent Care, which celebrated its commitment to serving the Hellertown area with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony April 6.
