Pet Scripts Now Fillable at Giant Pharmacy

Some of the most popular pet prescriptions will now be available from Giant pharmacies, including Heartguard Plus, Rimadyl and Frontline Plus.

With more than 60 percent of its grocery shoppers having at least one dog or cat in their household, and MARTIN’S Food Markets recently announced the launch of a new service for pet owners.

GIANT/MARTIN’S has partnered with accredited pet pharmacy PetCareRx to help fulfill the prescription needs of pet owners, and as of May 27 customers can have their pet prescriptions filled at their local GIANT/MARTIN’S pharmacy.

“We are excited to offer this new and convenient option for our customers who are also pet owners,” said Leigh Shirley, director of pharmacy operations. “In addition to offering a variety of pet food products, customers can complete all of their pets’ shopping needs with one stop at our stores.”

Before the partnership, 40 percent of vet prescriptions could be filled at GIANT/MARTIN’S pharmacies.

In partnership with PetCareRx, GIANT/MARTIN’S will be able to offer three of the most popular pet prescription items that had previously only been available from veterinarians and online vet pharmacy providers. These include Heartguard Plus, Rimadyl and Frontline Plus.
