Dining at DiMaio's a Hellertown Family Tradition

Since 1985, DiMaio's Family Restaurant and Pizzeria has been a favorite eatery for many residents of the Saucon Valley and beyond.

It's been nearly 28 years since DiMaio's Family Restaurant and Pizzeria opened in Hellertown, and running the popular eatery is still very much a family affair, co-owner Anna DiMaio said recently.

In addition to her mother, DiMaio said her sisters are also very involved with the business, which is known for its relaxed atmosphere, al fresco dining area and its extensive menu.

In August the restaurant will celebrate its 28th anniversary in Hellertown.

Also this summer, DiMaio's is once again participating in Saucon Valley Restaurant Week, when it will offer both lunch and dinner special menus to customers.

The lunch pre-fixe menu ($10 plus tax) includes a cup of soup, a sandwich or pasta, french fries or a house salad and a fountain soda.

The dinner pre-fixe menu ($25 plus tax) includes a choice of appetizer, soup or house salad, a choice of entree, dessert and coffee.

Every guest at DiMaio's enjoys their homemade bread, which Anna DiMaio said is what sets the restaurant apart from other places.

Some of the restaurant's signature menu items include Chicken Francese and DiMaio's Creamy Clam Sauce.

Anna DiMaio said that while the majority of customers are from the Saucon Valley, many travel from much further away just to enjoy the food and atmosphere they find special.

Located at 27 Main St., in the Shoppes at Hellertown, DiMaio's is BYOB and is closed Sundays.

Although restaurant week begins Sunday, DiMaio's will be participating Monday, July 22 through Saturday, July 27.

The restaurant is open Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
