Pat Benatar Coming to Sands Casino, Barnes & Noble

There will be two opportunities for local fans to see the '80s pop-rock star this Sunday.

She's coming to the Lehigh Valley to hit 'em with her best shot.

Fans of Pat Benatar and '80s rock are thrilled that the Grammy Award-winning singer of classics such as "Love is a Battlefield" and "We Belong" will be playing at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem with Neil Giraldo this Sunday, June 26.

As part of the resort's Musik @ the Sands concert series in collaboration with ArtsQuest, the star will perform in a 2,000-seat tent at the Sands, with proceeds from the series supporting the planned Festival Center at SteelStacks.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $44 and $59, available at this page on their website. They are also available by phone at 610-332-3378, and in the Sands & Co. retail store at the casino. The casino-resort is located at 77 Sands Boulevard.

All Musik @ the Sands concerts are for patrons who are 21 and older.

Diehard fans of the singer can purchase Platinum or Gold Premium passes, which will provide extended access at the concert, including a pre-show meet and greet and a photo op with Benatar and Giraldo. However, at $595 or $225 per person, not including tickets, those privileges won't come cheap.

Those interested in exploring this option should check out the star's website: www.benatar.com.

Earlier in the day on Sunday, fans will have the opportunity to have a copy of Benatar's book, “Between a Heart and a Rock Place: A Memoir,” signed by the singer.

Benatar and Giraldo will appear at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Bethlehem Township from noon to 2 p.m., and fans who buy a copy of the book beginning at 10 a.m. that morning will receive a wristband allowing admittance to the booksigning event.

No other items will be allowed in for the booksigning. Cameras and camera phones will also not be allowed. A wristband does not guarantee admission into the signing if time runs out.

Full guidelines for the event, which is expected to draw a large crowd, can be found here.

The bookstore is located at 4445 Southmont Way, just off Freemansburg Avenue and Route 33, in the Southmont Shopping Center. More information is available by calling the store at 610-515-0376.

Benatar has been married to guitarist, songwriter, producer and collaborator Giraldo for 28 years, and the two have toured together for more than three decades.

Best known for her hard hitting rock chart toppers, including “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” “Treat Me Right,” “Hell Is for Children” and “Shadows of the Night,” Benatar won four Grammy Awards between 1980 and 1983.
