Paparelli said the band is trying to expand its audience and hopes the spotlight on regional radio will bring new fans.
"We're waiting for that one big thing to happen," he said, adding that the group expects to perform "Ants Marching" (by the DMB) and one of its own tunes, "So Far Down," during the "Live at 5" segment.
Locally, the band has played at well-known venues such as Pearly Baker's in Easton, Mach's Gute in Bethlehem, the Riegelsville Inn in Bucks County and Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.
They've also played The Bitter End in New York's Greenwich Village and The Grape Room in Manayunk, Philadelphia.
On Aug. 9, the Billy Bauer Band will perform at Musikfest's Liederplatz, which is located behind the Sun Inn in downtown Bethlehem.
Paparelli said last year's performance at Liederplatz drew a record crowd of 900, and this year the band will have a new single to promote when it takes to the stage.
They are currently working on a video for the new song, which is called "No Money."
Another video by the group, for the song "Maybe Tomorrow," featured Tyler Grady of American Idol fame.
More information about the band is available at www.billybauerband.com and on its Facebook page, which currently has more than 1,400 fans.
The group is now looking for a booking agent and hopes to begin traveling and performing across the country in the near future.
In the meantime, a list of local dates and locations of performances can be found on its website.
