[Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, PA - February 23, 2012] - An Artist Reception, featuring a
retrospective exhibit of paintings and photographs of Coplay native James R. X. Heller of Pine Grove, PA, will be held at the Heller Homestead on Monday, March 5 from 7 – 9 p.m. [snow date: Tuesday, March 6].  The event is hosted by the Saucon Valley Conservancy. The Exhibit runs Saturday, March 3 through Sunday, April 22, 2012.
James started his education at the University of Arizona with a BA in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Art.  He
attended the Ringling School of Art in FL and received his Masters in Art Education from Kutztown University. He worked as an art teacher for Pine Grove Middle and High Schools in Schuylkill County, and also in commercial art. This event is free and open to the public, donations appreciated.

The Art Gallery at the Heller Homestead and the Antiques and Collectibles Gift (Consignment) Shop are free and open to the public on most weekends & during special events during March 3 to December 16, 2012. We are closed most holiday weekends. Saturdays and Sundays hours: 1
pm to 4 pm (Sundays, 12 to 3 pm, May - November)

Proceeds benefit the Saucon Valley Conservancy, Inc. Due to an unexpected circumstance, the Art Gallery and Gift Shop may be closed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Michael Heller Homestead is located just off the popular Saucon Rail Trail at 1890 - 92 Friedensville Road, (Water Street), in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton
County, Pennsylvania. It is approximately one half mile west of Route 412 and Water Street in Hellertown.  Turn west on Water Street, which becomes Friedensville Road in Lower Saucon Township. Go across the Water Street Bridge.  The Heller Homestead is on the left adjacent to the Saucon Creek and opposite Creek Road.  Parking is available on site and at the nearby Water Street Park.
