Update: As of early Tuesday morning a Winter Weather Advisory had been issued by the National Weather Service for Northampton and Lehigh counties. According to the advisory, there is the potential for 2 to 4 inches of snow to fall overnight, with snow changing to sleet and freezing rain Wednesday morning.
The forecast calls for rain and snow--becoming all snow after 4am--with up to an inch of snow possible. The chance of precipitation as of late Monday was forecast as near 100 percent.
The snow could continue into Wednesday morning, making the trip to work or school messy.
The Eastern Pennsylvania Weather Authority (EPWA) has also predicted the possibility of frozen precipitation Tuesday night and early Wednesday, both on their website and Facebook page, where local forecasts are discussed extensively.
